Samira - January 2011

Now that the most beloved cheetah of the farm, Samira, is closer to the volunteer's camp they can spend more time with her so she is receiving a lot of love and attention.

Between 10-10.30am the volunteers are lucky enough to have "Samira Time" whereby the loveable cat is spoiled for a whole half an hour. Like any cat she loves a fuss and rewards her visitors with purrs of happiness. In fact, you can hear her purr all the way from the volunteer lappa as well as watching her stalk the sheep and goats as they walk by her fence!

Samira used to go on daily walks, although she had a tendancy to disappear rather quickly so a tracking collar was swiftly attached to save hours of searching for the loose cat!
Samira seems very content in her new enclosure and has even picked her favourite spot - resting under the shadow of a bush!
